Many of you will know that our non-profit making association waters are often regarded as the best in Britain.  This web site has been created to assist you to keep up to date with developments on the River Spey here at Grantown on Spey, in the Scottish Highlands and within the Cairngorm National Park.

It will be of great interest to you to learn that, with the exception of the River Tweed, the River Spey is the most productive salmon river in Britain.  Based on the last 5 years catch returns, our association consistently produces 4% of all of the Spey's rod-caught salmon.

The Spey is also acknowledged to be the best sea-trout river in Scotland and one of the top three rivers in Britain. Our Association water consistently produces 20% of the Spey's rod-caught sea-trout.

The Association has been frequented over the years by many well known angling figures, Tommy Edwards, Arthur Oglesby and Hugh Falkus to name but a few, each rated the fishing at Grantown highly as does Andrew Graham - Stewart writing in Trout and Salmon:

" The banks are well looked after, even manicured in places. There is clearly a great determination to maintain the club's pre-eminent position among associations."

Praise indeed and good to know that we are lucky to have what is probably the best Association water in the country.

What can S.A.I.A Offer You Either as a Member or as a Visitor?

Importantly the Association has secured the fishing rights to Upper Castle Grant all week. This means you can fish from Saturday to Saturday on the most alluring club water anywhere in the country.

Non-Resident membership is available at £595 for the year for 6½ miles of double bank fishing on the River Spey and 12 miles of double bank fishing on the River Dulnain.

Fish and a beautiful fishing water, what a combination.
